Prosperia: Cycles of Cash and Chaos
Build a thriving city in a world where prosperity has a price. Deal with bandit raids and seasonal climate extremes as you strive to break the endless loop of suffering. Can you build a thriving society, or will your city crumble under the weight of its own success?
Made for the 10 day game jam https://itch.io/jam/goedware-game-jam-13 with the theme "Breaking the Loop". It also has an Easter Egg challenge for which I just placed four easter eggs on the map for you to find. The eggs use a noise node based realtime material which is taken from my previous game jam project making them a reference to it.
I had no time to really play test the balancing. Early game might be fine but I think late games becomes very easy. There is no trivial and quick fix for that though.
So this is kind of a prototype city survival game inspired by Farthest Frontier and Ratopia. I didn't have time to make citizens that do jobs and transport items around so I just made a global storage system instead. Also had no time to do any kind of audio. I kept running into all kinds of last minute issues. I think this "prototype" is more of a tower defense game than typical city survival.
